Return to Golf Rehabilitation:

Don’t let pain, injuries, or bad swing mechanics keep you from the game you love. Here at Agility Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, we can treat the pain and fix your swing so you can play at your highest potential.

Reasons for common injuries:

  • Stresses of the golf swing on your body
  • Minimal attention to a good warm up program
  • Too much time on the range
  • Poor swing mechanics

Common injuries that occur:

Low back pain: Multiple factors may attribute to low back pain, including rotational forces on the spine, poor posture during the swing, disc issues, arthritis, most of which can be addressed with a comprehensive posture strengthening program

Hip injuries: Next to the low back, your hips are the bearer of the most torque during the golf swing which can lead to debilitating injuries that can transfer into a poor gait.

Knee pain: Rotational forces that are transfered into the knees during the golf swing can put damaging stresses to ligaments and tendons that support the knee.

Shoulder pain: Being one of the most unstable joints in the body, the shoulder is subject to over use because of strength deficits and poor swing mechanics which can lead to inuries to rotator cuff muscles and ligaments that stabilize the shoulder.

Elbow and wrist pain: Improper strengthening and stretching of the elbow and wrist can lead to pain and tendonitis in these joints.

How we can help:

-Having the knowledge of multiple Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants, along with a golf professional in the facility, we can help recognize faulty swing mechanics along with strength deficits and teach you to correct postural issues. We can also help bring you back to your favorite pastime through rehab of injuries or recent surgeries in a way that no other clinic can…with focus on your game.
