Youth Sports FAQs

  • What age group do you serve?

    We specialize in youth athletes, aged 6-18. In addition, we also offer classes for adults ages 18 and up.

  • My child has never participated in sports. Can AFX help?

    Our program is designed to introduce kids of all abilities to a fit and improved physical lifestyle.  Our programs provide both competitive and non-competitive athletes a unique training experience that is both challenging and fun. Our programs are age appropriate and catered to the athletes’ skill levels.

  • Does your facility work with teams?

    We offer a Team Training program designed to complement the skill development that athletes receive at practice and improve overall performance in that sport. This program is organized and customized for your sport team.

  • How many times can my youth/athlete train per week and what is optimal?

    The number of training sessions per week depends on the specific AFX program.  Some programs are unlimited, while others are specific to a number of days per week.  The optimal amount of training per week depends on the program, but in general 2 – 3 days per week is average.

  • What is the best AFX program for my youth/athlete?

    The best programming for your youth/athlete depends on the his/her goals, and yours.  The only way to determine the best fit is to contact AFX and book an assessment.  During that time, the AFX staff will discuss the results of the assessment, along with goals and recommend the most appropriate program for your youth/athlete.

  • What is best if my youth is not an athlete and he or she is just looking to get into shape?

    If your youth is looking to get active, lose weight and/or get in shape, then the Next Level is the answer. Many of our Next Level youth find the “athlete within them” during the Transition or Athlete Class experience and go on to train like an athlete in our Next Level program.

  • How is the AFX program different than other youth sports performance offerings?

    Our founder, Alan Dalton, has been training young athletes for 15+years.  His methodologies and programming where built for youth, NOT an adult program that is “customized” for youth – that can be dangerous, and, certainly, less optimal to the needs of the youth!  Additionally, AFX coaches are trained to train youth, which requires a different set of skills than training adults.  AFX has been in the business of training youth since our inception…it is not simply another market beyond adult to sell for us!

  • How long will it take to see results?

    Results depend on the effort your youth/athlete puts into the program.  Most youth/athletes who come 2 – 3 times per week and are engaged in the sessions will feel and see immediate results, but you will begin seeing results after only several weeks.  If you ever question your youth/athlete’s progress, the AFX staff will be happy to conduct an updated assessment.
